"i" Culture

In today's society we have an epidemic spreading throughout our land. It is a disease of the mind that is affecting millions. The symptoms are as follows: a strong sense of entitlement, wanting to have things "our way", a feeling that I cannot be wrong; my circumstances led to my actions. Fret not my friends, this disease is curable, and if controlled there will be no lasting effects.

Christian Walk at Work..... Do You Know Who You are on Monday?

According to the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, we as Americans, spend a majority of our day in the workplace. Time use on an average work day for employed persons ages 25 to 54 with children....This is a tell-tale sign that we work too much. All joking aside, this provides a great opportunity to be a witness for Christ. Jesus told us in Matthew 5:13-16 that we are "the salt of the earth" and "the light of the world." Notice, He did not say we had the "potential," but that "we are."

Do you know who you are on Monday?

Dirt roads, Rotary phones, & a Rural Upbringing -"plum" full of value

Most of my best memories come from
some old dirt road
My childhood took place in the latter part of the '70s and throughout the 1980s beginning in Cunningham, TX where the population hovered between 200-300. A very rural setting, such as this, made for a unique upbringing. As I approach 40 years of age I realize that because of this, I experienced life differently than most people from my generation.

MUSIC: Cause and Effect (relation to the Psyche)

A friend and I were having a discussion the other day in reference to different genres of music and the effects it can have on the way we live our lives. We broached the topic of how music can affect our attitudes. The conclusion reached is that, regardless of what genre, it can dramatically affect the way we act. I'm willing to take this a step further by entertaining the idea that not only does MUSIC affect our actions, but I believe that it can have a direct connection to the spiritual health of our "psyche," whether that be favorable or adverse in consequence.

World View: Direct from the perspective of a Renewed Mind

"The sky is falling, the sky is falling!" The famous last words of Chicken Little in the children's story entitled The Story of Chicken Little by E.L. Easton. In this rendition, the story is used to teach children about courage. I have my own take on the Chicken Little story, and if you'll continue to read I believe you will enjoy it.
